The world waits

Obama is popular with the people and the people await his word

Nothing. This post does absolutely nothing for me. Not a single laugh, not even a chuckle. Methinks Professor Red is losing his satiric touch.

Sadly, mustapha, I have to agree with you. If there's a joke in this post, I just don't get it.

Want to clarify, Professor Red?

I think it's illustrating another form of racism. Instead of automatically rejecting someone's beliefs based on their race, instead this time around he's demonstrating that racism can also mean blindly following and agreeing with someone's beliefs based on their race. It's just a bit more subtle.

Oh, that's a nice guess, anonymous, but I think we all missed the joke. So obvious it was staring us right in the face! Literally!

The text on the wall of the picture is part of an Obama speech in which Obama says "I believe deeply that we cannot solve the challenges of our time unless we solve them together – unless we perfect our union by understanding that we may have different stories, but we hold common hopes; that we may not look the same and we may not have come from the same place, but we all want to move in the same direction – towards a better future for our children and our grandchildren. This belief comes from my unyielding faith in the decency and generosity of the American people. "

The joke, of course, is that this is NOT the Obama that Professor Red's persona believes in.

In fact, Professor Red has already told us that whenever Obama makes statements like this, he's flat out lying...Professor Red's version of Obama is a man who intends to grind the White Man into the dirt once he has fooled the White Man into electing him.

It's actually pretty clever satire, but we were just looking in the wrong place.
