As I write these words, Hurricane Irene is approaching the northeastern United States where President Obama and his family were enjoying a well-deserved vacation on Martha's Vineyard island. An earthquake recently occurred in that part of the land. These two events may be related and should give us concern.

During the height of its destructive power, the Bush Regime used weather-control technology to create the hurricane known as "Katrina" in 2005. Orbiting the Earth, the weather-control satellite or satellites were directed to generate the storm and target the New Orleans area. Thousands of Africans were directly killed by the storm and later by Bush Regime agents and forces. The worst example of this being the forced imprisonment of thousands inside the New Orleans Superdome where people were denied food, water and safety from murderers and criminal gangs.

The oil corporations benefited from the attack as they were soon allowed by the Bush Regime to brutally exploit the Gulf of Mexico for oil drilling. This criminal environmental rape later resulted in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill of 2010 which was in part, a failed attempt by the oil companies and neo-conservative extremists to embarrass and blackmail President Obama.

As discussed here a year ago, the fate of the Bush weather control technology is not precisely known. The matter continues to be investigated by Attorney General Eric Holder and other members of the Obama Administration. The sabotage of the space shuttles by the Bush Regime in 2008 has hindered the investigation. It has been reported that the orbital devices were given to another power but others say that they are still out there, waiting for new orders from those who cling to the Bush Regime and the capitalist exploiters.

With just cause, it is suspected that this Hurricane Irene was an assassination attempt on President Obama and his family on Martha's Vineyard. Or perhaps the plan was to strand the president and his family on the island while a coup d'état took place in Washington, DC. If so, we are fortunate that the plan failed.

President Obama has been briefed on the matter and he is now secure at the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) headquarters in Washington to monitor this storm and to investigate its origin.

The true and proper name of course, is Rhacotis.

Today Egypt is a prisoner of an American CIA puppet named Hosni Mubarak. This must come to an end.

As President Barack Hussein Obama brings America to justice and corrects centuries of wrong-doing it is proper and necessary for us to heal the wounds created in Africa by the enemies of truth and justice.

Given the current unstable situation in Egypt, it would be acceptable and necessary for the African Union to step in to restore order. Ultimately, we should see a return of African rule in Egypt so that Africa again will be the guiding light of the world.

But the African Union must act quickly. Agitators representing the interests of the white man are attempting to steal African history from Egypt’s museums to hide the truth of what was.

As one of the great lies in human history Christmas ranks among the most racially charged occasions of the year.

THE LIE begins with the cover-up to hide the true identity of Jesus who was a black African philospher. He certainly was not the blonde haired man we have seen all too often in pictures and in movies. Jesus was concerned about the growing hostility of the white man towards Africa. He set forth on a great journey from Africa to the Middle East to preach his message of love and respect. He hoped to make it to Europe to civilize the white man but they killed him because he was African.

Christmas is meant to celebrate the birth of Jesus but the white man has turned this event into a ceremony of greed and an obsession of material want.

To add insult to injury, the white man created a caricature of Jesus called "Santa Claus". Santa Claus is depicted as a large white man from the European icelands with magical powers. He has the ability to enter any home at will (a metaphor for the white man's invasions into other lands).

Santa Claus also has the ability to hand out a seemingly endless amount of material gifts to seduce children into thinking that material wealth is the greatest gift of all.

Last but not least, Santa Claus uses slavery and the threat of violence to spread his "holiday cheer". Tied to his sleigh are animals depicted as raindeer that Santa whips until they fly him to wherever he wishes to go.

The origins of this imagery are somewhat vague but many African historians believe that this alludes to the fact that Africans were the first to master air travel. White men must have seen Africans using their air gliders to travel from place to place. Burning with fear and jealousy, the white man must have felt compelled to mock this achievement.

Nairobi — For those of us who have lived and worked in the United States of America, the Barack Obama victory as the first black president of that country was a huge and exciting phenomenon because, as they say, America is a hard, racist nut to crack.When the white migrants began to flock to the United States from the beginning of the 17th century, they claimed that they were abandoning Europe because of entrenched and incorrigible religious, political and social impetigo.

Indeed, various reasons drew the colonists across the Atlantic. Over the years they grew rich and powerful. The New World tested and sometimes transformed their values, but never destroyed them.

And yet, in a rapidly changing and globalising world people must change or remain behind, ossified. That is why the United States is today sliding down the global scale of wealth, influence, and respectability. The increasing rise and popularity of India, China and Brazil are pointers to the American hubris. The causes of America's slow death include petulant racism, conceited arrogance, the quest to be the lords of mankind, and the disconnect with the disconsolate world.

America is historically known for its bondage system of slavery that traumatised its black population. Was Obama convinced that as a black president, he would survive white America's pathetic racism and treachery?

But it was not just white intolerance that bothered some of us with regard to Obama's presidency. We also knew that the majority of the Black Americans -- the descendants of the slaves -- would not readily accept him. Despite their historical tragedy, the Black Americans also practise segregation against the more recent African migrants to the United States. To them, Obama is not pedigree enough because his father did not cross the Atlantic in a slave dungeon.

To most Black Americans, Obama's ideas have nothing to do with the Negro problem. James Baldwin tell us in Notes of a Native Son that however grand one's ideas, however cute and talented, "if the world looks at them with frightening indifference, then they are bound to melt away like the morning dew drops."

To most Black Americans, Obama will never be a Malcolm X, a Martin Luther King, a Jesse Jackson, a Colin Powell, or even a Condoleezza Rice. His Cabinet is solidly Caucasian while his education is ethically WASP (White, Anglo Saxon and Protestant).

Is Obama alone in the American wilderness? Not at all. Despite the reported mass exodus of the whites to the Republican party, Obama still has the support of a core crowd of whites and blacks who are not mesmerised by cheap hip-hop racism and folklorist history. This commitment to Obama is based on his liberative ideology that is modernist and futuristic.

Obama has proved to be a new kind of leader -- one who can bring people together and be honest about the challenges Americans face. After years of failed politics from Washington, Obama offers his country a chance to reclaim the American Dream. His ideas have not failed and he remains globally popular. It is the very conservative American crowd that has rejected his ideology. Other Obamas will arise, and the United States of America will be liberated from its obnoxious moorings.

Since 2008 the students in my classes have been enthused with a greater energy and hope with the ascension of President Obama. Fear and distrust has been replaced with hope and confidence for the future. Pride in our African heritage has swelled along with a greater curiosity about Africa and its role in shaping the world that we live in today.

Before he was elected I told President Obama about the legend of Amon-Ra, a God of ancient Egypt who attained the characteristics of all other gods. I told him that he reminded me of Amon-Ra because he has the ability to appeal to many people for various reasons. He also has the wisdom, the courage, the foresight and the sense of justice that many of our African gods possessed. Obama is also the son of African kings and queens and some of them were descendents of the gods. So is Obama himself a god?

The Obama Administration has been quietly but thoroughly investigating the Hurricane Katrina attack on New Orleans in 2005. The following has been established so far:

The levees were blown up with explosive devices. This was done to allow the maximum amount of water from the Gulf of Mexico to flood the city.
The hurricane was not natural in origin. Climate scientist have concluded that the storm’s force and size was simply to large and powerful to have been a natural occurrence.
The Bush Regime was involved in the destruction of the levees and in the formation of the “hurricane” known as Katrina.

Unfortunately much of the evidence and documentation of the attack has been either destroyed or remains hidden. When the Bush Regime failed in its efforts to steal the 2008 election from President Obama “they panicked and started destroying documents on a mass scale” one investigator told me.

What worries President Obama the most is the unknown fate of the orbital weather device that was used in the attack. Was it destroyed to hide the truth of what happened or is it still out there waiting for its master to issue new orders?

An all-white world for children

This child’s tale is narrated by a white creature called “Sam the Snowman” who proceeds to tell the story of a reindeer named Rudolph who was born with a glowing red nose. Because of this distinct characteristic, Rudolph is shunned by his tribe who live near or with an all-white race of small elves.

These elves are servants to Santa Clause, a larger white being who uses the reindeer to transport him around the Earth to bride children with toys and trinkets. Rudolph eventually flees his tribe with an elf named Hermey who believes he can be a dentist. They met up with a white man called Yukon Cornelius who seeks to exploit the land for silver and gold. The trio encounters a tall white beast creature known as the Abominable Snowman. After a short chase they escape from it on a chunk of floating ice.

They arrive on the Island of Misfit Toys which is ruled by King Moonracer, an winged African Lion. King Moonracer allows them to stay one night but they must leave the next day. Rudolph insists on leaving the island that night fearing that his nose would bring danger to the others.

For several years, Rudolph wanders the land and matures. He eventually goes back to his tribe and discovers that his parents and his young reindeer mate have left home to search for him. He goes looking for them and finds them trapped in a cave by the Abominable Snowman. Inexplicitly, Hermey and Yukon Cornelius just happen to arrive on the scene. They knocked the creature unconscious by dropping rocks on its head. In a disturbing scene, Hermey reveals his inherent white nature by perverting his medical knowledge and using it to pull the creature’s teeth out. When it awakens, the creature is angry and confused and Yukon pushes it over a cliff but ends up falling down with it. It is assumed by the others that they are both dead.

The survivors return home and tell their tale. Yukon suddenly returns with the Abominable Snowman who he has now enslaved. The elves and Santa Claus are pleased with their new slave but then a giant blizzard strikes. Santa Claus doesn’t believe he will be able to make his travels to exploit Christmas but gets the idea that Rudolph and his glowing red nose could help him get through the storm. Rudolph agrees and they travel to Island of Misfit Toys to collect more items to distribute to children on Christmas night.

Observations:

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is oddly honest about its racist views. It makes no attempt to hide the exploitive relationship between Santa Claus and the elves. It seems to glorify Yukon Cornelius and his intentions to exploit the land and it does not apologize for the enslavement of the Abominable Snowman. There are no people of color, no Africans in this story. This is a typical worldview presented in Christmas tales such as this. Ironic since Jesus was a black African man. None of the toys built by the elves reflect African people or culture. There is no mention of Kwanzaa.

Questions:

How did King Moonracer become ruler of the Island of Misfit Toys?
What is the fate of Abominable Snowman who is now a slave to Santa Claus and the elves?
Do any of the elves or reindeer know that Jesus was a black African man and that Christmas has no inherent or historical connection to Santa Claus?

The connection between Obama and Islam is fascinating. Muslims believe that God revealed his final message to humanity through the prophet Muhammad. Not long before I left the United States, I woke up, like many others in Washington, to the stunning news that US President Barack Obama had won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. Then, fighting the temptation to believe that the news was some kind of sensational joke, I proceeded to search the major news outlets for signs of excitement. Nearly every commentator seemed shocked by the committee’s decision to honour Obama, who had been nominated for the world’s most prestigious award just 12 days after entering the White House.

What worried me was that some of the shocked ones quickly moved from being surprised to anger, their bewilderment turned into a feeling close to abhorrence for Obama. One of the less angry ones found his sense of humour when he compared Obama to a teenager who gets a Porsche for his sixteenth birthday. “It’s wonderful but where can you go from there?” William Jelani Cobb, a history professor at Spelman College, wrote in The Politico, a popular online magazine.

The answer seemed obvious. The kid, given the keys to the Porsche, may summon the madness necessary to crash the car in the woods. What’s more, there is the question of what he should get when he makes 17.

Such comments satisfied the demand for instant analysis, but I also saw them for what they really were: a ridiculous attempt to demean Obama’s achievement. Why were some Americans angry that their own leader had been so honoured, that Europe was embracing America, and that they finally had a president who did not inspire hatred for their country? The answer lies in the fact that Obama, for all his motivational skills and political prowess during the 2008 campaign, still presides over a society that is still analysed in red and blue, in terms of liberals versus conservatives. It is easy to forget that Republican John McCain did not terribly lose the popular vote, which is a common mistake. And yes, it is the one fact that most Africans do not consider when they heap expectations on Obama.

If it is not yet Uhuru in Kenya, it is not yet Obama in America. That point was brought home to a sad reckoning when Obama took some fire for wanting to speak to American students. As part of a speech that was meant to inspire school children to work hard, Obama ignited a storm after his critics pointed out that many families were not sure they wanted their children indoctrinated by a liberal president. Wrong-footed, Obama had to fight hard to convince Americans that his intentions were good.

The ancient Egyptians themselves said that every woman was a nutrit, a little goddess.

Nut and the other Gods taught the original Africans the ways of the universe. They traveled to the stars and often visited the Moon in order to study the Earth from space. From the Moon, these Africans were able to create highly detailed maps of the Earth which enabled them to explore the world by sail.

Imhotep was a African god, healer, poet and philosopher from approximately 2850 B.C. to 525 B.C., and as a full deity from 525 B.C. to 550 A.D. Kings and Queens bowed at his throne. Imhotep lived during the Third Dynasty at the court of King Zoser.

When Africans crossed the Mediterranean, becoming the foundation of the Greek culture, Imhotep's teachings were absorbed there. Yet, as the Greeks were determined to assert that they were the originators of everything, Imhotep was forgotten for thousands of years and the white man Hippocratesas stole the knowledge of Imhotep and took credit for it.

President Obama recently visited White House and met the man responsible for some of the worst crimes against humanity: George W. Bush.

I spoke with President Obama this week about his experience there. It was an emotionally draining moment for the young President. "Being in the White House was disturbing and odd", Obama told me. "We're about to have this legal transfer of power yet the symbol and home of that power is a place where all these illegal things were done".

"As I walked through the halls that place I could see and feel all the weight and presence of all the old white power. You cannot escape it. There was dozens, hundreds of paintings and statues of white men of power. There was nothing there to indicate that the majority of humanity is of color. I really do not know how I can live there or have my family there."

"I thought about slavery and I could hear the cries of America's victims in that place. If you listen, you can hear them".

As for the leader of the current regime in power Obama chose not to comment. "We will be making changes," he said.

Is Africa ready for Obama?

Since Africa gained independence from European colonial masters, the US government has only sporadically paid attention to the vast sub-Saharan stretches of the continent. What attention has been paid usually has come in response to crises, both natural and human-made.

Let's face it: The US is the most powerful nation in the world. Decisions made by an American president affect millions across the globe. Pundits have been questioning whether America is ready for Obama. The question that should be asked is this: Is Africa ready for Obama?

The answer is a big "Yes". When Barack Obama occupies the Oval Office and White House on January 20 next year, he will move his father's native continent higher up on this country's policy agenda. In this ever-more-interdependent world, that would be good for both Africa and America unless corrupt or incompetent government officials prevent it.

We all know that the US' current foreign diplomacy hasn't worked. Part of Obama's appeal is the fresh perspective he holds on world matters.

Even before Obama announced his candidacy for election, he had already attracted attention, not only from America, but indeed from all over the world.

Africa saw a connection through his father. No wonder Kenyans claimed him as their own.

For all the whining over Obama's identity, the question to ponder is this:

Will a black president be more favourable towards Third World countries? What do Africa and the developing world stand to benefit from a black president?

Considering how popular Obama is around the world, particularly Africa, coupled with his naturally amiable persona and his solid international background, will his presidency see the end of hatred towards America? Or will it compromise his country's foreign and domestic policy goals?

Obama has already spoken about the responsibility of Africans to take action against "a lack of basic rule of law and accountability that has hampered the ability of countries with enormous natural resources".

"Ultimately, a new generation of Africans have to recognise the international community and the international relief organisations. The US can't help Africa if its own leaders are undermining the possibilities of progress," Obama said during his trip to Africa in 2006.

In his 1995 memoir, Dreams From My Father, Obama recalled his first trip to Africa, when, in his late 20s, he cried as he sat between the graves of his father and grandfather.

By acknowledging that the power of the US is finite, Obama presents himself as a foreign policy pragmatist, one who is different from the neo-conservatives who have a more strait-jacketed view of the world.

It is always hoped that a candidate's words will match his actions. Obama has a wealth of words but, unlike many candidates, he turns them into action.

He does not have to craft the Utopia his followers dream of. He follows his own words. As he said at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, the American Dream is measured in "a faith in simple dreams, an insistence on small miracles".

Obama may be an idealist, but he is also a brazen progressive. By putting him in the White House, Americans have produced their most-liked president since Bill Clinton.

An American president with a more favourable outlook and appreciation of the ever-fluid and transient nature of global politics such as Obama is the political bandage that could restore the US.

The inner circle of foreign policy experts advising Obama is small but influential.

His advisers consist of three people who worked in President Bill Clinton's administration: former National Security Adviser (NSA) Anthony Lake and former senior State Department officials Susan Rice and Gregory Craig.

Lake was the NSA adviser during Clinton's first term.

Rice was the senior adviser on national security affairs and an assistant secretary of state for African affairs and a special assistant to the president at the National Security Council at the Clinton White House.

The Obama foreign policy team deals with counter-terrorism, the development of democracy, the inter-related matters of energy and the environment, global health, homeland security and nuclear non-proliferation, among other issues.

Obama is aware that if he wishes to regain respect in the world, the current brand of US democracy isn't palatable to everyone. There are certain rights every human being should be entitled to.

If he hopes to get other world leaders to the same table, Obama knows that he needs to lead by example. He has said that the US needs to come to that table with a closed mouth and open ears. He understands that America needs to listen to all sides, something the Bush administration has refused to do.

Obama knows that America can't hope to resolve issues if no one listens.

For Obama, open communication is a priority, without conditions.

The US must learn to share the world forum with even the smallest of countries.

Obama knows that every country has a stake in this planet we all inhabit.

He is a respectable leader to represent America to the world.America needs young blood in leadership. The US needs new policies in foreign affairs.

In Obama, America has not only an effective speaker, but also an effective listener. This is a major step in promoting world peace.

Obama may only have been a first-term senator with little Washington experience when he launched his presidential bid, but he understands that realism in American policy can be achieved without the risk of the type of power politics Bush employed.

Obama, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's sub-committee on Africa, has said his goal is not simply to dwell on problems, but to talk about solutions, too.

"These days, the challenges Africa faces are well-documented. The opportunities are less known," he said.

"When I visited an Aids clinic, what I tried to learn was not simply whether Aids is devastating in a country like Kenya.

"What I hoped to learn in talking to a nurse or a mother or talking to a doctor was what programmes are working to prevent Aids, to treat Aids."

Obama's mixture of African roots and political celebrity will, at least, call for new attention to those problems, a big step away from the status quo.

Africa has long been ignored as a national issue, even by the Democratic Party, which relies heavily on black voters during presidential elections.

That should change because Obama is a strong Democratic leader.

Obama's heart is with Africa. More important than Obama's skin colour and partial African heritage is that he will bring a change from the policies of the Bush administration.

He may not be a foreign policy wonk but he is up to the task of providing the far-sighted leadership that former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan had called for from America when he said: "The system still cries out for far-sighted American leadership."

Obama's race and modest upbringing in Hawaii are the most dramatic changes in a political society dominated by rich white men.

He has broken the stereotypes of the Bush administration.

The poetic truth of Obama - the son of an African goat herder - replacing Bush - the son of an oil tycoon - is sweet enough to give even the hardest cynics a toothache.

Imagine the Zimbabwean tyrant Robert Mugabe blaming his people's suffering on the American white devil under President Obama?

With his background, Obama is not a humanist per se, but he is not unreceptive to human interest policies, both at home and abroad, which will implicitly eliminate the need for animosity towards the United States.

The historic election of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the only Super Power of the world, the United States of America, has rekindled the hitherto dormant dreams in all of us. In fact, the African can now feel proud again at this moment and rejoice in the day of the Lord.

Mr. Obama has demonstrated to the whole world and the African continent in particular, including the Shiabii and few bungalowbii that “you ought to dream big”.

The emergence of a new breed of Homo sapiens in the person of Mr. Obama, whose gift of oratory surpasses other forebearers on the political scene, is to tell those of us who had been dreaming ‘dreams’ not to rest on our ores but work hard to achieve our dreams.

God has his own plan for mankind, especially the Black man. The Black man’s time would surely come; and when it did, it came in a grand style.

Many African-Americans, as they prefer to be called, had taken the path Mr. Obama took to become the president of the world’s most powerful nation but did not succeed.

I can say without fear of contradiction that many past and dead African-Americans could have been far better than Obama in terms of intellectual acumen and other traits. He is therefore not a trailblazer in the quest to wield power.

Unfortunately for those dead heroes and heroines, their modus operandi in pushing forward a just society where the Black man would be proud to belong to the nation that prides itself as the hub of human rights, economic empowerment, opportunity for all and all the ‘kominini’ of human dignity, were skewed towards selfish agenda.

If you listen to such great orators like Brother Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, Marcus Garvey etc, you hear and smell bitterness and vindictiveness in their cry. They tended to blame the ‘oyibo’ as the cause of their ‘wahala’.

Others had talked about compensation and retribution for the atrocities meted out to the Blacks in the early days of ‘Black America’.

Fortunately for Mr. Obama, he learned a lesson as a ‘student’ of history that by treading the footpath of racial warfare and taking advantage of the racial discrimination going on in the so-called ‘land of justice’ his fight for the Oval office would be short-lived. He therefore steered clear of that landmine and by the help of ‘Mawusogbolisa’, Obama is today a history maker and not history.

He demonstrated to his political opponent that no amount of ‘dirty’ politicking would dissuade him from marching on to the Oval Office to become the president that the world has been yearning for.

He is going to cleanse the presidency that had been besmeared with ‘hatred’ from ‘Omasa Bin Lady’, the twin brother of ‘Sasabonsam’ who has vowed to make the world ungovernable for the occupier of the Oval Office.

Yes, everyone dreams ‘dreams’ but what we make of that dream is what matters. Many people who have attained great heights in their various endeavours did not reach that height by a night’s ‘flight’. It was a journey of a thousand kilometers that was started some long years ago.

There are many of our youth out there who have ambitions of becoming ‘somebody’ someday. Their dreams could experience some jolts but if you persevere and fight on, the battle would one day be won.

Like Obama, who nurtured the dream of becoming the president of the United States and started working towards it, the youth should also consider the fact that achieving one’s ambition calls for preparation, character formation, spiritual development and other transformations that are needed to attain great heights.

The task ahead of Mr. Obama is as equally daunting as the expectations from all of us, but I know that with the trust in God he would deliver.

I profess that after eight years of reign Mr. Obama would become one of the greatest presidents the US has ever had, and may even overshadow many of the great leaders of America if he stays focused and does not allow power to ‘eat’ into his head.

Like the Israelites were also assured of the Promised Land by God and for a period that dream seemed to be far from being realized but eventually came to pass, it may take us years to realize our dreams but with the help of God and belief in Him, the small dream would become big.

Dream well but don’t dream ‘konkonte’, ‘banku’, ‘fufuo’ or ‘tuo zaafi’ dreams and think that one day, one day you too would become ‘Mr. President’ Cut your dream according to your head. Good night and sweet dreams.
